Nostalgia

100 carefully crafted presets for TAL J-8 soft synth. The sound design in the set is inspired by my own foraging into moments in time and history that gave me a sense of melancholy and longing, or even a sense of something eternal. The names of the presets occasionally tip off what inspired the sound design, like MACKINAC, 1928 or ST HELENS KEYS.

The sound world of Nostalgia is generally melancholic, but is sometimes fierce and direct. I approached the sound design with the intent of creating a comprehensive compositional toolkit.

There are additional presets in the pack beyond the 100 main presets that headline the project. There is a folder with 12 alternative versions of the main presets, which I thought were interesting and different enough to keep in the pack. There is also a folder for 'arp' versions of the main presets, which have been modified to play well with arpeggiators. These folders bring the total number of presets in the pack to 133.
